The Old Rectory Chale is the grade II listed Georgian home of Mary & Nigel Coward.

It is located in the village of Chale on the Isle of Wight in an area of outstanding natural beauty and the self catering accommodation is located on the ground and first floors offering wonderful views over the nearby downs. The Isle of Wight has many attractions and beaches, all within a short drive. Access to our beaches is good with ample parking. The beach at Compton bay has plenty of sand, good surf and two large cars parks it is an easy 20 min. drive from The Old Rectory.

We have two suites of self catering accommodation available to book. The larger St Catherines Suite - sleeping 5 and the Seascape Rooms - sleeping 3

The village of Chale is a quiet location on the South coast of the Isle of Wight with wonderful walks and safe cycle rides. Both Nigel and Mary are keen walkers and have designed a number of walks starting from The Old Rectory, or if you wish can supply you with maps of the Isle of Wight and advise to help you plan your own routes.

Within the village of Chale is the award winning "Wight Mouse Public House " which is renowned for its good food and is only a short walk from The Old Rectory.

From the self catering accommodation there is a very enjoyable walk to one of the most spectacular beaches on the Isle of Wight - Whale Chine. Also close by is a farm shop selling "farm made" ice cream, eggs and fresh veg.

A short drive can take you to Blackgang Chine, one of the Isle of Wight's major attractions for the young and young at heart.

There is a bus stop immeadiately opposite our main gate which will take you all round the Isle of Wight our Local Information Page has a link to the Isle of Wight bus web site giving the times of all the buses.
