DDA Access Statement for St Catherine’s Self Catering Accommodation
The Old Rectory is a Georgian grade II listed building and as such, has many original features. We aim to ensure that all of our guests have a comfortable stay. To aid your stay, you may find the following information useful. The owners can assist with luggage where necessary and assist people if required, whilst ensuring their own safety.
Exterior of The Old Rectory
- There is ample off road parking in front of the house and this is accessed directly off the B3399. Cars can be parked close to the entrance. The distance from a parked car to the entrance is 4m.
- There are no steps to the rear garden, which is entered via the side of the house the access is flat with a combination of gravel, paving stones and grass. The grassed areas are also flat and there is seating in the garden for guests.
Interior of St Catherine’s
Ground Floor
- From the front door to the bottom of the staircase is 6m.
- There are 15 stairs to the first floor
- From the front door to the dining room is 5m.
- From the dining room to the sitting room is 2m.
- The narrowest point to pass through is 49cm.
- There is no toilet on the ground floor.
- There is a small step up from the kitchen to the dining room.
First FloorThe bedroom furthest from the top of the stairs is 5m.
- The width of all doorways into bedrooms, bathroom and toilet is 80cm.
- There are two small steps on the first floor.
- All bedrooms have ample sockets.
General Information
- There is a bus service, which operates on an hourly basis and runs from Ventnor to Newport, the bus stop is directly opposite The Old Rectory.
- There are ample car parks with disabled parking slots in all the main towns and at the many points of interest around the Island.
- Mobile telephone coverage in the area is fairly good.
